Hi, I’m Diana, the blogger and photographer behind Down Home Traveler.
Originally hailing from Northern Vermont, I moved to Texas in 2008.
I love to explore what the world has to offer especially music, food and traveling.
There’s no place off limits.
In Greater Detail: Born and raised in the great Green Mountain State of Vermont (and much time spent in Canada), I moved to Texas in 2008. Little did I know, Texas would hold a huge place in my heart. Looking back, my need for exploration and travel has always been there, it just happened to flourish in the Lone Star State.
Down Home Traveler started out as a place to share what I was doing with my family and honestly as a way for me to document my travels so I can remember them when I’m old (not that it helps I’m always behind the camera). Now, it’s also a way for me to share with you the great hidden finds of this world and hopefully encourage you to go out and do the same.
I love exploring! Weird, ordinary, hidden or in plain sight. I believe in being open minded and never passing up an opportunity, it may change your life forever and bring even more.
Loves: Photography, mountains, snow, dirt roads, fishing, Rangers baseball, Texas country, two-stepping, my Subaru, water towers, windmills, old barns, cows, ice cream, brisket, Mexican food, micro-brews, wine, maple syrup, biking and pretty much everything in between. I like to think that I’m a great blend of the North and the South.
Country girl at heart, I like to get dirty, explore the outdoors, put my cowboy boots on for a live show or just try out a new restaurant to share with all y’all. (See, the South is getting to me.) There’s no telling what I’ll be posting about but I can guarantee, I’ll fill you in on the good, the bad, the ugly and the funny. Hope you stick around for the ride!
